About Cardstead

Built for the work that keeps a card shop moving.

Cardstead is daily operations software for independent card shops. It keeps trades, store credit, money, calendars, employees, and the record behind each decision in one place.

Why Cardstead exists

The sale is only one part of the day.

A POS records checkout. A shop still needs to know which trade is waiting, why a store-credit balance changed, who approved a payout, what happened to the drawer, and what the next employee needs to pick up.

Cardstead is built to keep that work connected without asking a shop to replace the checkout and payment tools it already uses.

Meet the founders

Built from both sides of the counter.

Cardstead started at Underground Card Zone, where Scott played and became friends with Kyle. When Kyle described the strain of managing trades, store credit, finances, and planning across separate platforms, they decided to build the connected operations system they could not find.

Co-founder and engineering lead

Scott Wheeler

Scott leads engineering at Cardstead. He plays Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, and Riftbound, serves as a Pokémon judge, and previously sold Magic cards through online marketplaces. That mix of software and firsthand hobby experience shapes how Cardstead turns complex shop work into tools teams can use every day.

Co-founder and business operations lead

Kyle Pack

Kyle owns Underground Card Zone and leads Cardstead's business and operations work. Running the shop showed him how quickly trades, store credit, finances, and planning become fragmented when each lives in a different platform. He keeps Cardstead grounded in the day-to-day needs of shop owners and their teams.
